Post Meningitis Symptoms

Annette John, Dead Line 24

- Paul wriggled like an eel. What he was going to respond well, it would be the wrong thing. Josie smiled mischievously, her eyes sparkled in the moonlight. She enjoys it, thought Sally, she's a beast. -

Sally Hayden lives with her family on a farm in the desert dome. It is a large piece of land which is located under a glass dome, which is needed to keep so-called hybrids. Hybrids are dangerous beings who can make himself invisible and people devour in no time. Thus the penetration of this nature can be truly prevented, the dome farmers have every day the glass surface for cracks Which screen can be closed by using dome wire. Sally, her grandfather and her brother take care of in addition to this daily task even for their animals, the vegetable beds and orchard. The father of Sally and Paul died several years ago, the mother is blind and is responsible in large part to the budget. Therefore, the grandfather is also very quickly a migrant worker who came by chance on the Hayden-farm. It is also nice to watch again a new face, as the caravans of the Lords, who usually visited farms at fixed intervals, the dome, there have been no long time. And because a walk is too dangerous outside the farms, see even the neighbors are very rare and often it is then a family celebration. The contact is held everyday on radio. But this means of communication is not always reliable. Despite all these circumstances, the doubt Hayden's rare. You know it's not different and they have turned their fate.
Vigo, migrant workers, however, is not very busy and can forget from time to his duties. So it is not surprising that he neglected the important task of the dome review and allows the hybrids to attack. Only with great difficulty and the help of an extraordinary flying object, the farmer beat the hybrids. then changed the vision and the life of the family, however radical.

Annette John tries her book in an environment to create, but still contains the features of our world, but also contains fantastic elements. From my perspective, it is unfortunately in an experiment. The descriptions are too coarse, the human and fantastic characters vaguely. There is no clear picture in my head. It is more of a blurry thing, its boundaries can not disconnect me. Again and again, one wonders how it came to this world change. This is really a problem. The voltage of action guides the reader through to resolution. But even that has been missing in this book. The story has not grabbed me. It flows rather tough then. The end and the related resolution stem from a very interesting idea, but that was degraded by the enormous structure.

Bottom Line: An interesting idea that was unfortunately not implemented sufficiently exciting.
